Pre-dating its award-winning photo spreads, National Geographic read like a scientific journal in its late-1800s and early-1900s issues. Comprised of some of those scarce original publications, this lot is headlined by: 1896 September (Vol. VII No. 9); front cover detached (but present) and moisture-induced wrinkling on lower portion; 1898 September (Vol. IX No. 9); front/back covers missing, crisp pages intact; 1905 partial run of (9/12); many (VG-EX) or better. More on our website.

Also included are:

1901 August (Vol. XII No. 8); (VG) with covers and all pages intact. There is age-induced toning throughout and separation about the spine

1905 a partial run includes: April (EX with covers and crisp pages intact); May (VG; covers and crisp pages intact with writing on front cover); June (GD; front/back covers detached but present); July (VG-EX; minor separation about spine, covers/pages intact); August presents minimally at the VG-EX plateau with covers/pages intact, as well as map insert); September (VG-EX; covers/pages intact with wear about the spine); October (EX with covers pages intact, as well as map insert); November (GD; covers/pages present with wear and significant separation about the spine); December (presents EX with covers/pages intact and minor separation on upper portion of spine)
