While the 1951 World Series proved an anticlimactic encore to Bobby Thomson’s “Shot heard ‘round the World,” it marked the October debut of the event’s most prolific slugger. Graded PR-FR 1 by PSA, this full ticket was issued at Yankee Stadium for Game 2 of the ’51 Fall Classic. In a 3-1 Yankee triumph that day, Mickey Mantle collected his first-ever World Series hit and also notched the first of both his record 42 runs and 54 strikeouts. Offsetting tiny staple holes and creases, bright colors and a clean reverse prevail on this “Standing Room” voucher.
