Recalling an era of dignified elegance and formality this prestigious assortment of early 20th Century Philadelphia related ephemera is sure to please the discerning paper collector. The highlight of this grouping of (20+) items is an invitation to the 1908 London Olympics addressed to Mr. Albert E. Turner which is signed in high style with a (9) strength by George W. Orton, secretary of the Olympic committee, who won gold and bronze medals in track events at 1900 Paris Olympics. Mr. Turner was a prominent Philadelphian who worked as a newspaper reporter and editor and also served as a member of the stock exchange. Also included are a cabinet photo of former Pennsylvania governor Martin G. Brumbaugh and a related dinner program, breakfast invitations from Thomas B. Wanamaker and many dinner ceremony programs including the Poor Richard Club.
