Description

Having escaped the strict laws and codes of his native Sudan, Kueth Duany headed to the U.S. and earned accolades like the examples found in this impressive lot. A virtual “tribute” to the former Syracuse captain, these awards are highlighted by: 1000th Point Ball a full-size ball with two painted panels (with minimal chipping) commemorating Duany’s 1000th NCAA point milestone from March 4, 2003 at Notre Dame; (4) 2003 Photo Plaques 15x12 wooden plaques each with a color action photo and a plate with engraved career achievements. Additional highlights include:

2003 National Champions Ball a full-size ball with white panels detailing the Orangemen’s 2002-03 game-by-game results, culminating with the 81-78 NCAA title game triumph over Kansas (limited edition of /2003)

Syracuse Plaque a 14-1/4 x 14-1/4” wooden frame with an orange felt backing a raised school seal. Along the bottom edge, a metal plate is engraved “KUETH DUANY – Captain-Basketball”

Key to the City presented by Syracuse Mayor Matthew J. Driscoll in 2003, the 8x6 wooden plaque features a gold-colored skeleton key and plate with text detailing Duany’s “Key to the City” award
