Enduring their 11th of 13 straight losing seasons in their Midwestern venue, the 1965 Athletics fared similarly at the gate and were not long for Kansas City. Promising youngsters Catfish Hunter and Blue Moon Odom meant promising days were on the horizon, just not in Kansas City.
This OAL Cronin baseball was autographed by (32) members of that ’65 Athletics roster. The clean white sphere (grade “8-9”) is home to black ballpoint pennings that average (“6”) strength and clarity (with a few nicer) and include:
Sweet Spot Sullivan (manager); North Panel Stahl, Appling (coach), Dickson, O’Donoghue, Joyce, Stock, Landis and Mossi; South Panel Buschhorn, Aker, Hershberger, Krausse, Causey, Rosario and Lopat (front office aide); West Panel Wyatt, Lindblad, Tartabull, Lachemann, Bryan, Campaneris, Talbot and Herzog (coach); East Panel Green, Harrelson, Sheldon, Schwartz, Hunter, Segui and Charles; Reverse Sweet Spot unidentified.
