The offered apparel is among the earliest Minor League exemplars we’ve seen. Likely from the pre-war days, this button-down Cedar Rapids Raiders garment features a red wool body and tan-colored leather sleeves. Adorning the left shoulder, “11” and an overlapping “CR” logo are sewn in red felt. Within the stretch ribbed cotton collar, a vintage “Rawlings” label bears the company’s “St. Louis” address. There are (2) front pockets and all (7) original plastic buttons are intact. The item exhibits heavy wear with cracking and wrinkling about the leather portions. The Raiders, incidentally, were a Class B Cleveland Indians affiliate who toiled in the Triple-I (Illinois-Indiana-Iowa) circuit.
