Description

While the Yankees have set a standard for excellence for nearly 100 years, so do their apparel items in the circles of game-used collectibles. This Bronx lot includes: (2) Batting Practice Jerseys thick mesh navy-blue button-down garments with “NY” sewn to the left breast in white twill. On the back, one has “13” and one has “18” sewn in white twill; (2) Signed Caps “New Era” items respectively signed on the bill’s underside by Boggs and Mattingly (use cannot be attributed to either). Auction LOA from JSA (for autographs). More on our website.

New York Yankees #13 Batting Practice Jersey a thick mesh navy-blue button-down garment with the overlapping “NY” logo sewn to the left breast in white tackle twill and “13” sewn to the back in like fashion. An MLB silhouette logo is sewn to the base on the neck, the left front tail is home to a “Majestic” label and the left side seam’s features a size “46” flap tag. Within the left side seam, a fabric content tag has a “0065” gamer code. The latter identifier dates the jersey to 2003-2006. Pitcher Antonio Osuna wore “13” in 2003 and Alex Rodriguez wore that number for the remainder of the referenced period. The jersey shows minimal wear and was definitely team issued.

New York Yankees #18 Batting Practice Jersey a thick mesh navy-blue button-down garment with the overlapping “NY” logo sewn to the left breast in white tackle twill and “18” sewn to the back in like fashion. Combined with that time frame, the number “18” limits the jersey’s issue to either: Jeff Weaver (2003); Homer Bush (2004); John Olerud (2004); Bubba Crosby (2005); Andy Phillips (2005); or Johnny Damon (2006). Minimal wear is evident on this team-issued jersey.

Wade Boggs Signed Cap a blue wool accessory with the overlapping “NY” logo embroidered to the front center and a blue button atop the six-point crown suspension. A sweatband lines the interior’s circumference and features “New Era” and “Diamond Collection” labels, as well as a size “7-3/8” tag. On the bill’s underside, a black marker notation of “12” is accompanied by Wade Boggs’ black marker signature. The pro model cap shows moderate wear with perspiration-induced soiling about the sweatband. Wear by Boggs is highly unlikely as the size does not match that of Boggs’ gamers and the MLB silhouette logo on the back of the cap was introduced the year after Boggs retired.

Don Mattingly Signed Cap a blue wool accessory with the overlapping “NY” logo embroidered to the front center and a blue button atop the six-point crown suspension. A sweatband lines the interior’s circumference and features a “New Era” label and a size “7-3/8” flap tag. On the bill’s underside, a black marker notation of “D” is accompanied by Mattingly’s blue marker signature. The pro model cap shows solid wear with perspiration-induced soiling about the sweatband. It’s use by Mattingly cannot be confirmed.
