This lot is rife with autographs of American political, stage and song icons spanning the first half of the 20th century. The black or blue ink signatures average (“8-9”) potency with highlights including: Nat King Cole 1960 “I’m With You” theatre program (signed interior page); Betty Grable 1965 “Hello, Dolly” theatre program (signed photo page); Herbert Hoover 1949 signed typewritten letter; Buster Keaton 1960 “Once Upon a Mattress” theatre program (signed interior page). Nat King Cole a 16-page theatre program issued for the 1960 production of “I’m With You.” Covers and all pages are crisp and intact. Cole has signed his biography page in blue ballpoint (“9” strength). Co-star Barbara McNair has signed her biography page, as well (“8” strength).

Betty Grable a 16-page theatre program issued for the 1965 production of “Hello, Dolly.” Covers and all pages remain intact, though the piece is affected by moisture-induced wrinkling and paper loss. Grable has signed a full black-and-white photo page and her black ballpoint signature (“9” strength) is not hindered by the aforementioned flaws.

Herbert Hoover composed on a sheet of Hoover’s personal stationery, the typewritten letter is dated “May 11, 1949” and is signed by the former U.S. President in black ink fountain pen (“8-9” strength. The original mailing envelope accompanies.

Buster Keaton a 16-page theatre program issued in 1960 for the production of “Once Upon a Mattress.” Covers and crisp pages remain intact. The appropriate black-and-white likenesses have been respectively signed in blue ballpoint by: Fritzi Burr, Dody Goodman, Buster Keaton and Harold Lang. The signatures show (“9”) quality throughout.

Time Out For Ginger a 1954 Theatre program from the production of “Time Out For Ginger.” The guide shows wear and a page has been trimmed, The blue ballpoint autographs average (“7-8”) strength and clarity and include: Edith Atwater, Melvyn Douglas, Mary Hartig, Jacqueline Hernly, Nancy Malone, Steve McQueen (“6” strength), Laura Pierport and Barry Truex.
