An avid stamp collector since boyhood, former U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt was the appropriate endorser of the 1932 First Day Cover. As a respected member of the American Philatelic Society (and Governor of New York at the moment), FDR’s likeness was portrayed in the cachet, which is postmarked “OCT 21 1932.” At the lower left corner, Roosevelt’s black-ink steel tip fountain pen signature projects (“8”) strength and clarity. Roosevelt’s is among the most coveted and historically significant Executive Branch autographs. Full photo LOA from PSA/DNA.
