The pride of Payette, Idaho, Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew endured seven straight losing seasons in the Nation’s Capital before becoming the face of a potent lineup in the Twin Cities. This OAL Harridge baseball is signed by the then-18-year-old bonus baby and (28) additional members of the 1954 Washington Senators and is quite possibly the earliest Killebrew souvenirs you’ll encounter. The creamy orb (grade “7”) is home to ballpoint pennings that average (“5”) strength with keys including: Altrock, Harris and Manush. Full photo LOA from JSA. More on our website.
Sweet Spot Myatt (coach) and Harris (manager); North Panel Oldis, Stone, Manush (coach), Vollmer, Pascual, Fitz Gerald, Shea and Haynes; South Panel Altrock (coach), Pesky, Umphlett, Snyder, Runnels, Porterfield, Tipton and unidentified; West Panel Keriazakos, Wright, Marrero, Terwilliger, Schmitz and Stewart; East Panel Stobbs, Vernon, Sievers, Killebrew and Yost.
Of note is that this ball was, with very high probability, signed during the latter portion of the season during Killebrew’s July 18 – August 23 stint (rather than during spring training), as Pesky was not acquired until June 14 that year.
